Country Manager - NI Technical Specialist

Jonny Harkness

  • Jonny is a Principal Modelling Technical Specialist at Trident Group Solutions and is our country manager in Ireland. He has over 18 years’ experience in the water industry, primarily based in Northern Ireland, and has worked for a number of water company clients across the UK and Ireland.

  • Jonny specialises in asset management of potable water networks with particular expertise in hydraulic modelling, risk modelling and asset prioritisation strategies. He has experience with various water distribution modelling packages including InfoWorks WS Pro, EPANET and WaterGEMS.

  • He has managed teams delivering extensive hydraulic model build programmes, strategic network studies, growth modelling, network optimisation studies and risk/prioritisation modelling. This experience has seen Jonny provide technical leadership on a range of clean water distribution network projects all with a focus on delivering value for money solutions to both on-going network issues and strategic longer-term planning.

Principal Hydraulic Modeller

Milivoj Kojic

  • Milivoj is Principle Hydraulic Modeller within Trident Group Solutions. With over 15+ years’ of modelling experience within the UK water industry he has been responsible for planning and execution of field tests, water balance calculation, hydraulic network modelling / calibration and reporting of clean water models under various projects for the UK water companies.

  • Milivoj’s experience extends to Strategic Studies, Water Impact Assessments (WIA) and Modelling (including Network Optimisation) on the specific request of the clients. In all these studies, Milivoj is using the hydraulic models for planning, operational and/or design (conceptual phase) purposes.

  • Milivoj is a proficient user of InfoWorks WS Pro network modelling software and is using it for project schemes that optimise network operation/performance, reduce leakage, increase network resilience and calculate and reduce supply interruptions

Principal Hydraulic Modeller

Clare Keir

  • Clare is a Principal Hydraulic Modeller with Trident Group Solutions. She has over 10 years' experience within the water industry with the majority spent within a water company where she began her career in GIS, then moved into the Clean Water Modelling team as an Assistant Hydraulic Modeller, and then as the Clean Water Hydraulic Modelling Engineer which involved leading a team of four modellers. She subsequently moved into consultancy and joined Trident full time in 2023.

  • She has a proven track record in model builds, planning and execution of field tests, water balance calculations and model calibration with associated reporting. Clare is accomplished in operational incident modelling with a proactive focus on rapid return of supplies to customers, as well as strategic scenarios such as large-scale rezones, changes in asset operation, zonal studies, and system optimisation. Clare has undertaken solution focussed modelling of raw water mains to assess issues and improve performance. Other aspects of hydraulic modelling include new development assessments, pressure management schemes, mains diversions, concessionary supplies, and pumping station reviews.

  • Clare's software experience includes SynerGI, Ansys CFX, Deltares Wanda, Bentley Hammer, InfoWorks and ArcGIS.

Senior Network Modeller

Tom Mitchell

  • Tom joins Trident with over 8 years’ experience of working in the industry with several different UK water companies. He has extensive experience using Infoworks WS Pro modelling software as well as experience using Infowater and Synergi. During his career so far he has completed reports for Impact assessment studies, DG2 studies, Growth Enquiries, reactive and planned outages and an Infoworks model build using Hydraulic Model Manager software (HMM).

  • Additionally, Tom has been involved in multiple projects outside of modelling, providing a deep understanding of the network and the assets used within the model. Projects include DOMS flushing, PRV maintenance, trunk main contingency planning and construction site surveying to help identify unaccounted for water.

Senior Network Modeller

Peter Burke

  • Peter joins Trident with over 10 years experience of working in the industry with a number of different UK water companies.

  • Being an advanced user of InfoWorks WS Pro, his skills have been used in number of areas including, poor pressure network design (formerly DG2), network model calibration and field testing, developer enquiries, growth studies and capital planning.

  • He is currently working with us to further develop and provide supply interruption reporting results using InfoWorks WS drain down analysis, as well as actively train and guide clients on using the modelling software packages.

  • With Peter being an experienced user of InfoWorks and having a wealth of knowledge from his career so far, he continues career development as a Senior Modeller at Trident working with our clients to develop better ways to use models and is yet another valued member of the Trident team.

Senior Network Modeller

Patricia Whaley (Tish)

  • Tish is a Senior Network Modeller primarily based in Northern Ireland, who has over 10 years’ experience working in the UK water industry, with several different water companies. She is an experienced user of Infoworks WS Pro modelling software as well as QGIS and MapInfo GIS software. 

  • She has extensive experience in hydraulic network build, calibration and scenario modelling, field test planning and execution, data analysis and water balance calculations, rehabilitation feasibility schemes and developer enquiries.

  • As part of Trident Group Solutions, Tish has been involved with model calibration, peaking scenarios and associated reporting as well as leakage detection and scheme proposals to reduce leakage across multiple networks.

Clean Water Modeller

Keegan Matthews

  • Keegan has had 2 years of UK water sector experience working as clean water modeller. Prior to his career in the water sector, he achieved a BSc Environmental Science degree from the University of Sheffield. Whilst at University, he focussed on water specific modules covering the following topics: Water Contamination and Remediation, Water Security and Practical field assessments ultimately writing his dissertation on a quantitative analysis of river water quality. Keegan has worked as a consultant, working for multiple water companies such as Yorkshire Water, Affinity Water, Anglian Water and Southwest Water.

  • His career in the water sector started within Developer services. Here, using InfoWorks WS Pro, he provided modelling support and analysis across different project styles such as: Contingency Reports for diversions and outages of mains, Point of Connection Reports & Impact Assessment Reports. Keegan then moved on to Growth Studies, working on new water connections, pre-planning enquiries and New Mains Connections using Synergi.

  • Keegan has worked on multiple model builds using InfoWorks WS Pro and HMM (Hydraulic Model Manager). Whilst working on model builds Keegan contributed towards planning and design of field tests, demand analysis, model build and model calibration.

Clean Water Modeller

Nicole Hunter

  • Nicole is a Senior Hydraulic Modeller with Trident, with experience in the water industry both in New Zealand and the UK. Originally from New Zealand with 5 years background as a Water Engineer, she has in-depth experience with InfoWorks WS Pro having been responsible for model build and calibration, development enquiries, operational modelling of pump stations and reservoirs, and pipe sizing and design input, among various other applications. She is skilled with QGIS, and is familiar with InfoWorks ICM and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

  • She has been involved in a range of other asset management projects outside of modelling, such as reviews of rural drinking water schemes and developing Water Safety Plans for compliance; identifying and prioritising renewal projects across wastewater, stormwater and clean water assets; implementing a carbon calculation tool for pipeline renewals; and pipeline design including engineering drawings and tender documentation.

  • She has built and used models for clients in the UK, learning more about different regulatory environments. She has modelled complex supply interruption events operating outside of normal parameters, and implemented new processes to improve accuracy and efficiency of reporting. 

  • Nicole enjoyed 2 years in the UK as part of Trident, and on her return home to NZ is excited to be a part of developing the New Zealand Trident business, and providing clients with insights into management of water networks and support as we move forward into the Local Water Done Well policy.

Graduate Wastewater Modeller

Jean Paul Djesa

  • Jean Paul holds an MSc in Operations Management and Business Analytics from the University of Salford, graduating with First Class honours, alongside a BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management from the same institution.

  • With experience as an Environmental Project Manager Intern at NG Bailey, Jean Paul contributed to sustainability initiatives by researching waste production, implementing recycling campaigns, and leveraging MACE’s waste data platform to drive measurable improvements.

  • Known for a strong work ethic and a methodical approach, Jean Paul is an adaptable problem-solver with advanced analytical and critical thinking skills. Outside of professional pursuits, Jean Paul is highly active, with a passion for combat and endurance sports such as jogging, sprinting, and weightlifting, and enjoys outdoor adventure activities.
